Lewis Goldfus Family Comes to New York

On April 30, 1909, Lewis Goldfus, Jewish jeweller from Russia who had been living in London, England, set sail for New York with his family on the ship, Cedric. They were listed as Hebrews.

Lewis was 42 and his wife Sofie was 38. They had six children: Yette 17 a milliner, Abe 14 a watchmaker, Ester 11, Rosa 10, benny 8 and sarah 6. They had been living with Sofie's brother Mr. Golange at 22 Harrow Rd, London, England. They arrived in New York on May 9, 1909. A nine day trip wasn't all that bad.
